Switching from Trakt?

A native home
for your watch history.

Trakt is not going anywhere, and this page will not pretend otherwise. But if you want your tracker to be a fast, native iPhone and iPad app instead of a website first, Couchmark was built for exactly that. And your Trakt history moves over with you.

Where Trakt's side depends on which client app you use, we say "Varies" instead of guessing. Much of the Trakt experience lives in third-party apps, and many of them are excellent.

Three steps, one evening

Bring your Trakt history along

1

Request your Trakt export

On trakt.tv, go to Settings, then Data, and request the export (a Trakt VIP feature). Download the ZIP from the email Trakt sends you. No need to unzip it.

2

Open Couchmark

In the app, go to Profile, then Account Settings, then Import from Trakt, and pick that ZIP.

3

Everything lands intact

Shows, movies, watch history with original dates and your ratings arrive in your library. The import only adds: anything you already track is kept exactly as it is, and importing twice is harmless.

Coming from TV Time instead? That importer is built in too: see how it works.

Frequently asked

No. Trakt is alive and actively developed, and nothing on this page says otherwise. Couchmark is an alternative for people who want a native iPhone and iPad app as their tracker, not a replacement anyone is forced into.
Yes, the importer is built into the app. Request your data export on trakt.tv (Settings, then Data, a Trakt VIP feature), then open Couchmark, go to Profile, then Account Settings, then Import from Trakt, and upload the ZIP. Shows, movies, watched episodes with their original dates and your ratings come along.
Yes. Couchmark is completely free for now, and if you download it and create your account today you will never have to pay. As Couchmark grows, power features become a one-time purchase of 1 euro for new users: pay once, use it for life. That single euro keeps the servers running and the app alive and improving. Core tracking stays free for everyone. No subscription, no ads, ever.
Yes, a free one. Your library lives in your account so it syncs across your iPhone and iPad and survives a new phone. Sign up with your email address or with Sign in with Apple.
Not today. Couchmark is built natively for iPhone and iPad. If your household is split across platforms, Trakt's multi-platform ecosystem may fit you better, and that is fine: this page is about choosing what suits you.
